Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to maximize equipment reliability. The incumbent will establish maintenance strategies and methods to improve site equipment reliability. The successful candidate will have a multi-discipline reliability background.
Reports To: Maintenance Leader
Span of Control: No direct reports
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive a zero Environmental Health & Safety incident culture; support and participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive actions; and correct unsafe conditions and acts immediately
  • Lead RCFA on maintenance and control issues; implement solutions, improving reliability and reducing life-cycle cost.
  • Problem resolution techniques - 5-Why; Ishikawa; etc.
  • Develop/optimize equipment care strategies (PM/PdM/CBM) that reduce unscheduled downtime and extend asset life.
  • Promoting consistency by standardizing equipment, procedures and operations.
  • Providing daily support for troubleshooting, planning, and repair.
  • Establishing and maintaining equipment criticality rankings and planning
  • Training and developing others in reliable concepts and techniques.
  • Assuring the delivery of reliable equipment from engineering concept to production.
  • Accomplish other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as asked.
  • Technical and professional knowledge & experience
  • Strong Electrical/Mechanical skills
  • Process Control: concepts of variation, SPC, FMEA
  • Use data and reliability metrics to identify loss drivers, prioritize improvements, and confirm results.
  • Support troubleshooting of complex electrical, controls, and machinery issues that impact production.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • 3+ years reliability engineering experience in a heavy industrial, continuous manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated capability in systematic troubleshooting, RCFA, and sustaining corrective actions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • CMMS experience (SAP preferred) and experience with PdM technologies
  • Experience with Six Sigma, TPM or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, Outlook
