As a release manager, you play a pivotal role in guiding product management and project teams to move forward in the release management lifecycle. Your job duties include planning the release schedule, ensuring all requirements are met, and identifying issues as they arise. A product release may involve application updates, operating system patches, or security improvements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Release Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Release Manager, you need expertise in software development lifecycle management, project coordination, and a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, version control systems such as Git, and ITIL or Agile certifications are commonly required. OneTrust's mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn't slow teams down—it should accelerate what's possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.

The Challenge

OneTrust is looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex product and feature releases across the organization, in partnership with Product Operations. This role ensures launches are delivered on time, clearly communicated, and aligned to broader go-to-market (GTM) strategies. The Product Marketing Manager for Go-to-Market will drive operational excellence, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and bring structure and rigor to OneTrust's fast-moving release environments.

Your Mission

Release Strategy & Execution

  • Own end-to-end marketing release management for multiple concurrent launches, from early planning through post-release evaluation

  • Develop and maintain integrated release plans, timelines, milestones, and readiness criteria

  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring field and customer facing deliverables are simple, value-centric and actionable

  • Ensure alignment between product development schedules and marketing GTM plans

  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; drive mitigation plans to keep releases on track

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing release readiness, partnering closely with Product Management, Product Operations, Marketing, Enablement, Sales and Customer Success

  • Facilitate release reviews, launch readiness checkpoints, and go/no-go decisions

  • Drive clarity on roles, deliverables, and ownership across launch stakeholders

Operational Excellence

  • Define and evolve marketing release management processes, tools, and best practices to scale with the business

  • Create standardized launch frameworks, playbooks, and templates to improve speed and consistency

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely handoff of launch assets across channels

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain executive-ready visibility into launch status, risks, and outcomes

  • Act as a calm, trusted operator during high-visibility or high-pressure launches

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with marketing and analytics teams to define launch success metrics

  • Conduct post-launch retrospectives to capture learnings and drive process improvements

  • Use data and insights to recommend changes to future release strategies

Required Qualifications
  • 4-5+ years of experience in marketing operations, release management, program management, or go-to-market roles

  • Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional launches in a product-led or technology-driven organization

  • Strong project and program management skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to influence without authority and navigate ambiguity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience and comfort with business-related tools and platforms such as AirTable, SmartSheets, Asana, Planner, WorkBoard, Confluence, Jira

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting B2B, SaaS, or platform products

  • Familiarity with Agile or product development lifecycles

  • Experience building or scaling release management processes

  • Comfort working with executive stakeholders on high-impact initiatives

  • Flexible and resilient, comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to a high-change environment and open to new concepts and/or processes.
