What is a relationship builder?

Relationship Builders are professionals who specialize in creating and nurturing positive, long-term connections between individuals, teams, or organizations. Their main goal is to foster trust, collaboration, and mutual understanding, whether it is in a sales context, within a company, or in client management. They use excellent communication, empathy, and networking skills to build rapport and maintain strong partnerships that can benefit all parties involved.

How does a relationship builder typically collaborate with other departments to achieve business goals?

Relationship Builders often act as liaisons between clients and various internal teams, such as sales, customer service, and product development. They regularly coordinate with these departments to ensure client needs are communicated clearly and are met efficiently. This cross-functional collaboration helps streamline processes, resolve issues quickly, and foster long-term client loyalty. Effective Relationship Builders proactively share feedback and insights, which can lead to improvements in products or services and support the company’s overall objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a relationship builder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Relationship Builder, you need strong interpersonal skills, networking abilities, and a background in communications or business. Familiarity with CRM systems, social media platforms, and customer engagement tools is highly beneficial. Exceptional listening, empathy, and conflict resolution skills help you foster trust and long-lasting connections. These competencies are vital for establishing and maintaining productive partnerships that drive organizational growth and client satisfaction.

Job description

We are looking for an ambitious and highly commercial VIP Relationship Manager (RM) to help build and scale Blockchain.com's high-touch VIP and Wealth program. You will own and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, acting as a trusted advisor, relationship manager and commercial growth partner. You will play a critical role in expanding client engagement across trading, Earn, lending, OTC and referrals - while delivering a white-glove, concierge-style experience.

This is a senior, revenue-impacting client role designed for charismatic, influential and highly motivated relationship builders who thrive in consultative sales environments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Relationship Ownership & Concierge Servicing

  • Own and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth and top-revenue VIP clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients across onboarding, account support, product adoption and portfolio growth.
  • Deliver a high-touch, concierge-style experience through direct messaging and real-time communication channels (including Telegram).

Revenue Growth & Portfolio Expansion

  • Actively drive upsell and cross-sell across the VIP product suite, including Trading, OTC, Earn, Lending, referrals and promotional programs.
  • Identify opportunities to grow client AUM, trading activity and product penetration through consultative discovery and tailored solutions.
  • Partner with clients to understand their trading behavior, portfolio objectives and risk preferences in order to recommend relevant products and incentives.

Client Discovery & Needs Qualification

  • Conduct structured discovery conversations to understand client goals, asset allocation, trading patterns and competitive usage.
  • Segment clients by archetype (e.g. active traders vs long-term holders) to personalize engagement and growth strategies.

Collaboration with Sales, Product & Operations

  • Work closely with institutional sales, OTC, product, operations, compliance and growth teams to deliver seamless client experiences.
  • Act as the voice of the VIP client internally by surfacing product feedback, feature gaps and competitive insights.

Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all client activity, conversations, opportunities and pipeline stages within the CRM.
  • Track engagement, conversion and revenue performance against defined targets.

Client Engagement & Community Building

  • Create and manage dedicated Telegram groups and direct channels to facilitate real-time engagement between VIP clients and internal teams.
  • Support exclusive VIP initiatives including events, promotions, product pilots and referral programs.

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Stay current on crypto market structure, trading trends, yield products and competitor offerings in order to engage clients in informed and credible conversations.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Provide regular updates on client performance, portfolio expansion, pipeline activity and strategic opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Proven experience in relationship management, account management, sales, or client advisory roles within financial services, fintech, trading, brokerage or crypto.
  • Demonstrated success in upselling and cross-selling complex financial or technology products to high-value clients.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence client behavior and drive revenue growth through trusted relationships.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and outstanding communication skills, with a natural ability to build credibility and rapport with senior and sophisticated clients.
  • Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) to manage pipelines, client engagement and performance tracking.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-ownership environments with revenue accountability.
  • Familiarity with real-time client communication tools such as Telegram, WhatsApp or similar platforms.
  • A strong interest in digital assets, crypto markets and emerging financial products.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage a book of business independently.

Experience in crypto, trading platforms or institutional brokerage environments is highly desirable.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Existing relationships or a personal network of high-net-worth or active trading clients.
  • Experience supporting clients across multiple products such as trading, yield, lending or structured investment products.
  • A background in consultative or solution-based sales rather than transactional sales.

COMPENSATION & PERKS

  • Competitive full-time salary based on experience and meaningful equity in an industry-leading company
  • This is a role based in our Dallas office, with a mandatory in-office presence four days per week.
  • The opportunity to be a key player and build your career at a rapidly expanding, global technology company in an exciting, emerging industry.
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Apple equipment provided by the company
  • Work from Anywhere Policy: You can work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 20 days per year.
