Responsibilities Include:
• Plan, execute and deliver nuclear analysis engagement for thermal hydraulic engineering and safety analysis
• Integration of multiple groups at Hatch for complex technical projects that achieve client satisfaction within budget and schedule requirements.
• Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate staff on specialized nuclear technical design and the nuclear engineering design process
• Provide support to other regions in the development and delivery of projects within Hatch;
• Review and approve technical deliverables
• Lead and support business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals and client pursuit plans
• Manage the proposal process for RFPs, EOIs, RFQs, and other formats
• Manage and expand Hatch's services for safety analysis
• Adhere to and promote the Hatch culture
Qualifications and Experience:
• Engineering degree from a recognized university
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within the nuclear power industry in relevant roles in thermal hydraulics and neutronics.
• Experience with light water reactors (PWRs and BWRs) and advanced reactor designs (SFR, HTGR, MSRs, etc.)
• Familiarity with nuclear reactor licensing and ability to plan and prepare deliverables to meet applicable regulations (e.g. NRC, DOE, NEA, etc.) and nuclear quality standards
• Ability to manage and motivate individuals to attain quality of deliverables, cost, and schedule objectives
• Broad knowledge of codes and standards for the nuclear industry
• Proven track record in business development, development and maintenance of client relations
• Flexibility for short term business travels
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally)
• Ability to plan and write comprehensive project reports
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience within organizations and teams, people manager
• Experience using simulation software packages such as GOTHIC, Flownex, STAR CCM+, Ansys CFD, TRACE, SNAP, and RELAP5.
• Experience leading the development and application of advanced thermal-hydraulics methods for complex systems
• Experience with Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification methods within regulatory framework for nuclear software quality assurance
• Familiarity with specialized structural analysis and neutronics would be beneficial
• Position will involve working on export-controlled projects, the successful candidate must be a U.S. Person (US Citizen, US lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or otherwise eligible to work on projects subject to 10 CFR 810
