Job description

Lifepoint Rehabilitation in partnership with North Alabama Shoals Hospital (NASH) is seeking a Medical Director for our acute rehabilitation unit in Muscle Shoals, AL.  This full-time position will collaborate with our program director and clinical staff in providing compassionate care to patients in our 32 semi-private bed unit.  There is also an opportunity to do EMGs for our two hospitals in North AL. The position will require MD/DO, an active AL license, at least 2 years of training or experience in the medical management of inpatients requiring rehab services.

About the Hospital:  NASH was founded in 1968 by a group of physicians dedicated to serving residents of Colbert County. Today, the 178-bed, general acute and specialty care facility boasts spacious, private rooms for all acute patients as well as a 24-hour emergency department; medical and surgical services; medical/surgical inpatient units; medical detox unit; and short-stay surgery units. Shoals Hospital also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit.  The Shoals Senior Care Center, the area’s only psychiatric unit 30 beds dedicated to our senior adults. The hospital also has a 20-bed Acute Adult Psychiatric Unit, as well as a Psychiatric Residency Program.
