Regulatory Operations Compliance Associate

Swiss Re

Windsor, CT • On-site

Full-time

Posted 23 days ago

Job description

Are you a detail-driven compliance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving regulatory environment? Do you love digging into the details, managing complex projects, and making a real impact across a global organization? If so, Swiss Re's Regulatory Operations team has an exciting opportunity for you!

About the Role

As a Compliance Associate on the Regulatory Operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting Swiss Re's North America product offerings and policy issuance. From the development and preparation of product filings through to implementation, you will be at the heart of ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple product lines. This is a role where no two days are the same - and where your contributions genuinely matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support filing processes for rates, rules, and forms, assisting Regulatory Operations teammates throughout the full product filing life cycle
  • Independently review and analyze bureau circulars (e.g., ISO, AAIS) to assess product and filing impact, communicate changes, and assist in completing required filing processes
  • Manage referrals received via the forms analyst mailbox across all product lines, including formatting specifications and determination of appropriate filing action
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of Swiss Re's internal tracking system to ensure current, regulatory-compliant product filing information is always up to date
  • Own and actively manage projects, taking initiative and participating in cross-functional projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Products, Underwriting, Legal, and other functional areas to ensure alignment and timely execution
  • Provide competitor product and filing intelligence to business units upon request, supporting informed decision-making

About the Team

You'll be joining the Regulatory Operations Product Services team - a collaborative, skilled, and supportive group that provides regulatory compliance support to multiple Corporate Solutions businesses across the globe. Our team brings together a diverse set of expertise and works hand-in-hand with departments across the organization to meet state regulatory requirements and implement product and regulatory changes effectively.

What makes us unique? No two days are alike. We thrive in an ever-changing product and regulatory landscape, and we embrace that complexity as an opportunity to grow. We're a team that looks out for one another - we collaborate, train, and mentor new colleagues, and we're always pursuing ways to improve how we work. If you're looking for a team culture built on trust, curiosity, and continuous learning, you've found it.

About You

You are a self-starter with sharp critical thinking skills and a natural ability to anticipate challenges before they arise. You bring a proactive mindset, rolling up your sleeves and diving in with minimal supervision. Equally comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a global matrix environment, you communicate with confidence and clarity across all levels - from internal stakeholders to state regulatory authorities. You are organized, deadline-driven, and skilled at juggling multiple priorities without missing a beat.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance rate and form filing, policy issuance system implementation, or other insurance regulatory-related work
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including creation and formatting of tables and application of document styles to support regulatory filings and correspondence
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creation of formulas and use of data formatting tools (e.g., filters, conditional formatting) for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Proficiency with regulatory filing platforms including SERFF, iFile, NILS, and ISOnet, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Insurance Company operations and the broader regulatory environment, including familiarity with Bureau Circulars (e.g., ISO, AAIS)

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with SharePoint, including document libraries, version control, and collaboration features in support of operational or regulatory documentation
  • College degree or equivalent professional work experience in a related field
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to artfully propose responses to regulatory objections and insurance department inquiries
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfort and experience working in a global matrix organization, interacting effectively with stakeholders at all levels

The position location is flexible to our Kansas City, MO or Windsor, CT offices. Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred.  This position is not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $52,000 to $78,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role, will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
