Job description

VVater is a US-based, next-generation water treatment company that aims to provide Water for Humankind with a cornerstone of sustainability and a promise of a better, healthier tomorrow, servicing various industries and markets around the world from Real Estate, Wastewater Treatment, Municipal Potable Water, and multiple others, in particular, focusing on the recovering and recycling of different waters in a centralized or decentralized way. The company also provides artificial beaches, urban lagoons, wave pools, surf parks, aquatics services, sewage treatment, wastewater treatment, and drinking water solutions.

Job Summary:
VVater is seeking a skilled and versatile Automation Technician to build, integrate, and maintain the electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and automated systems that power VVater's advanced water purification technologies. This role combines actuator integration, hydraulic/pneumatic control, robotics support, mechatronics assembly, sensor wiring, PLC and control interfaces, and mechanical automation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician who can turn engineering concepts into fully functional automated assemblies and field-ready systemscomfortable working across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and robotic subsystems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain actuators, linear, rotary, servo, and stepper across VVater's mechanical systems.
  • Assemble and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, pumps, valves, regulators, and control manifolds.
  • Integrate sensors, limit switches, encoders, solenoids, flow sensors, and proximity devices into automated assemblies.
  • Perform wiring, termination, cable routing, labeling, and harness building for automation systems.
  • Assist controls engineers in integrating PLC, SCADA, and automation hardware into mechanical assemblies.
  • Build robotic or semi-robotic fixtures, jigs, or automated subassemblies for product development and production.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct functional testing, calibration, alignment, and fine-tuning of actuators and automated equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and R&D engineers to convert prototypes into manufacturable automated systems.
  • Support troubleshooting of electromechanical failures, diagnosing faults in actuators, drives, relays, and control circuits.
  • Assist in developing automated testing rigs, motion assemblies, and hands-free mechanical systems that improve product reliability.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, hydraulic lines, and wiring harnesses, and ensure adherence to safety protocols in the shop environment.
  • Perform all other duties as instructed by the company.
    Skills and Qualifications:

37+ years of hands-on experience in automation, electromechanics, mechatronics, hydraulics, robotics, or industrial equipment assembly.
Strong understanding of actuators, drive systems, relays, solenoids, and industrial wiring practices.
Experience assembling and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic components.
    Basic understanding of PLC/controls signals (24VDC, analog/digital I/O).
Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment used in automation assembly.
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
Experience with servo/stepper controllers, VFDs, or motion control systems is a plus.
Experience in water treatment, industrial equipment, automotive testing, aerospace, or robotics environments is preferred.
Technical diploma or associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or Electromechanical Technology preferred.

Note: This job description is not exhaustive. Additional duties and responsibilities may be added as the role evolves and as projects demand. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt are essential qualities for this position.
