Job description

DESCRIPTION
BULK FOODS ASSOCIATE
Rosewood Market + Deli | Columbia, SC (Shandon) | Full-Time & Part-Time
$15.00 / hour to start
Our bulk foods department is one of the things that makes Rosewood Market special. It's a department that rewards curiosity, demands precision, and gives the right person a real sense of ownership. Every properly labeled bin, every clean scoop, every accurate weight is a reflection of the standards we hold ourselves to, and the trust our customers place in us.
We're looking for a Bulk Foods Associate who is meticulous, self-motivated, and genuinely excited about the world of natural and specialty foods.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Maintain bulk food bins and displays; keeping them full, clean, properly labeled, and attractively presented
• Weigh, package, price, and label bulk products accurately and consistently
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to department leads
• Receive and rotate bulk product, ensuring freshness and proper storage
• Keep the bulk foods area spotless; scoops, bins, signage, and surrounding floor
• Assist customers with questions about bulk products, ingredients, and sourcing
• Ensure all bins are correctly identified and allergen information is clearly displayed
• Support department leads with ordering, inventory counts, and shrink management
• Communicate through company-designated platforms including Homebase and email
• Treat every customer and co-worker with courtesy and respect
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• A sharp eye for detail - accuracy in labeling, portioning, and presentation is non-negotiable
• A genuine interest in natural, organic, and specialty foods
• Prior bulk foods, specialty grocery, or retail experience preferred, but we'll train the right person
• Highly organized and self-directed - you take ownership of your department without being prompted
• Comfortable with repetitive, detail-oriented tasks and maintaining consistency across a full shift
• Customer-friendly and confident answering product questions
• Dependable, punctual, and available including weekends
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stay on your feet for a full shift
WHAT YOU GET:
• $15.00 per hour to start
• Paid Time Off
• Company Vision and Dental Plans
• 25% - 50% RWM Employee Discount
• No overnight shifts - we close by 8pm Monday-Saturday, 6pm Sunday
• A tight-knit team where your attention to detail is genuinely appreciated
• Real room to grow, most of our leads and managers started on the floor
• The chance to be part of something that matters: a local, independent market rooted in community and quality since 1972
REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Allergy Alert: role requires exposure to nut products
