Job Description

RVR Consulting Group is thrilled to announce an opening for a dedicated Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team. This meticulous role calls for an estimator with substantial experience in the commercial roofing sector, aiming to contribute to and expand our robust project portfolio. As an integral component of our operations, the selected candidate will directly influence the precision and effectiveness of our project estimations and overall execution strategies.

The position offered is full-time and based in Mount Dora, requiring the ideal candidate to be present on-site. This is not a remote job, underscoring the need for direct, consistent engagement with the ongoing projects and the team. By stepping into this critical role, the successful applicant will embrace the opportunity to drive substantial growth and quality in our construction endeavors, working closely with both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive cost analysis for various commercial roofing projects, including material, labor, equipment, and time estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather all necessary project specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather detailed project data and requirements.
  • Utilize advanced estimating software to create accurate and timely project bids.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for client review.
  • Manage multiple project estimates concurrently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and roofing materials.
  • Analyze risk factors associated with the project and strategize appropriately to mitigate potential issues.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of past projects, bids, and outcomes for reference and analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and timelines.
  • Provide post-award services including change orders, RFIs, and cost reevaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator, specifically within the industry.
  • Experience with a variety of low-steep slope systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal panel, fluid applied coatings, and tile roofing.
  • Understanding of Florida Building Code (FBC) Chapter 15, ASCE 7 wind loading, and Florida product approval guidelines.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of prominent manufacturers like GAF, Carlisle, Siplast, Sika Sarnafil, Elevate Holcim, Johns Manville, PacClad, Behlen, and McElroy.
  • Certifications preferred: RCI/IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), NRCA ProCertification, OSHA 30-hour safety training.
  • Demonstratable experience in handling Public Sector bids including for school districts, municipalities, counties, RFP's, hotels, and theme parks.
  • Experience with High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) projects, post-hurricane insurance supplement work, and familiarity with FM Insurance protocols.
  • Exceptional skills in quality takeoffs, full cost buildup, proposal authoring, FL code compliance, managing change orders & RFIs, and effective pipeline management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
