Job description

Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA) – Full-Time Suburban Radiologists, SC Chicagoland Suburbs (Bolingbrook, GlenOaks, LaGrange, Hinsdale Hospitals)

Suburban Radiologists, SC, a physician-owned group founded in 1968, comprises 20+ fellowship-trained radiologists serving four community hospitals and six outpatient centers in the UChicago AdventHealth system. We are expanding our team and seeking a motivated Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA) to help optimize our workflow and support high-quality patient care.

Position Summary This full-time, daytime position will primarily involve on-site procedural work across our hospital sites. Routine cases will be scheduled at three sites on staggered days to minimize daily travel. Stat and inpatient cases will be added in real time during daytime hours as needed. You will serve as the main point of contact for these fluoroscopic procedures, enabling our radiologists to focus more effectively on remote diagnostic interpretations across the health system and improving efficiency and turnaround times. There are currently no call requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of fluoroscopic procedures (such as upper GI/barium studies, swallow studies, arthrograms, and other contrast exams) under radiologist supervision.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, obtain informed consent, provide pre- and post-procedure care and education, and assist in patient management.
  • Collaborate with supervising radiologists to review images, discuss findings, and optimize daily procedure schedules.
  • Support additional procedures as competency is demonstrated, including joint injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and other image-guided interventions.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, maintain compliance with radiation safety, regulatory, and departmental protocols.
  • Work closely with technologists, nurses, and the care team to deliver efficient, patient-centered services.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for procedural scheduling and coordination at the hospital sites.

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) certification (or eligible and actively pursuing certification).
  • Active Illinois licensure (or eligibility) for advanced radiology practice.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between the Bolingbrook, GlenOaks, LaGrange, and Hinsdale hospital sites during daytime shifts.
  • Strong commitment to patient privacy, safety, and quality care.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid time off, and more
  • Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected, independent physician-owned practice
  • Supportive environment with experienced radiologists who value teamwork and work-life balance
  • The chance to directly contribute to practice efficiency in a growing UChicago AdventHealth partnership

This is an in-person role based at our hospital sites (no remote work).

If you are a certified or soon-to-be-certified RRA who enjoys hands-on procedural work and wants to be part of an efficient, collegial radiology group, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant experience.

Suburban Radiologists, SC is an equal opportunity employer.
