Job description

Palm Health Resources is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our dynamic Cardiovascular Surgery team in Middle Georgia! This role offers the unique opportunity to support a high-performing cardiovascular surgeon across both outpatient and inpatient settings, with potential for First Assist responsibilities in the Operating Room.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery is preferred, and First Assist certification is a plus.

ร‚ Position Details

  • Deliver comprehensive care through pre- and post-operative assessments in clinic and hospital settings
  • Participate in inpatient rounds and consultations in collaboration with the cardiovascular surgeon
  • Assist in surgical procedures as First Assist (if credentialed and trained)
  • Coordinate patient care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Radiology, Emergency Medicine, and Lab Services
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-operative care

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a PA or APRN in Georgia Required
  • Certification by NCCPA (for PAs) or national certification in a relevant APRN specialty Required
  • BLS and ACLS certification Required
  • Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery Preferred
  • First Assist certification or willingness to obtain Preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
