Job Summary
The CT Technologist Lead is responsible for safely and proficiently performing laboratory, general radiography and computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to,
government regulations, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Imaging Department and the facility. This lead role is responsible to provide leadership and guidance to team as necessary to ensure
compliance with department policies and procedures. This role is also responsible to assist leadership as
necessary with staffing, report reconciliation, and other duties as assigned.
Position Responsibilities
• Responsible for conducting regular inventory and ensuring the facilities maintain proper levels of supplies through cooperation with the Facility Radiology Leader.
• Conduct all radiology studies in accordance with the law and company policy.
• Participate in any and all certification of the facility.
• Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Ensure that facilities are clean, well maintained and function in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Help train all new staff to use the equipment, follow policy and procedures, know their duties, and become familiar with the work environment.
• Always keep radiology suite clean.
• Review uphold lab policies and procedures while assisting in lab.
• Assist in patient care, to the extent that training and education allows. This may include obtaining vital signs, bringing patients back, helping set up for procedures or other duties not usually performed by
radiology technologists but that are within their scope of practice.
• Administer contrast material
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines
• Send images to Radiologist for interpretation/reading
• Accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions
• Prepare and operate CT scan equipment
• Ability to position patient to capture appropriate images
• Maintain monthly schedule, ensuring all shifts are covered, working open shifts for call in's if unable to find
coverage.
• Maintain Trophon weekly and update shared drive with monthly IC audit for QAPI
• Assist with shift coverage/openings.
• Assist with maintaining State Binder.
• Assist with weekend rotational call.
• If available attend Leadership, QAPI, IC and EM/EOC Quarterly
• Assist in Facility Mock Inspections
• Ensure Daily QA is being done correctly and reading within limits
• Checking dose output on all CT exams
• Perform maintenance of x-ray equipment i.e. calibration, weekly shutdown of software
• Other duties as needed.
