POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing Quality Control labs in a designated region and ensures that they meet all the LATICRETE quality criteria. This individual collaborate with the QC Manager, execute efficient Quality Control Activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that result in improved processes for manufacturing , implements and supports programs to ensure the Quality Control Teams execute efficient, reliable and repeatable Quality Control activities. The Regional Supervisor, Quality Control ensures all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety, environmental and ISO requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QC Lab and Process Management (35%):

  • Ensure adherence to that (G)ood (L)aboratory (P)ractices (GLP) across plants, implementing 6S methods for laboratory organization, and ensures that QC personnel across plants are effectively trained.
  • Develop and conduct process improvement assessments on assigned locations by proactively analyzing challenges in the Quality Control environment: process, lab layout, interactions with the other departments, training efficacy, test frequency, workload, etc., to keep the lab at its best efficiency level.
  • Collaborate on updating and improving QC Lab work instructions, procedures, and calibration of QC instrumentation referenced in the LATICRETE Quality Control Manual.
  • Perform QC tests as a working Supervisor at the local QC lab when required.

Data Analysis/Technical Management (25%):

  • Work with the QC Manager to ensure that manufacturing and raw material specifications are current and enforced.
  • .
  • Collaborate with QC Manager, Process Chemist, and Process Engineering team to troubleshoot quality of the product related problems.

Department and People Management (40%):

  • Lead by example as hands-on supervisor at home-based QC lab and provide on-site support as required.
  • Perform duties of a working Regional Supervisor at homebased QC lab, travel to provide QC support as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with multiple Plant Leadership Team, QA Team, and R&D personnel.
  • Lead and Execute the training programs of department employees to ensure that the competence level for the team members meet the expectations for their job positions.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment, recognizing and rewarding performance that drives desired results.
  • Provide direct reports ongoing feedback and coaching to aid in development and success within the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience working in a lab environment (required).
  • 2+ Years supervisory/leading a QC lab experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree (Chemistry or Technical focus desired) or equivalent relevant QC and/or laboratory certifications and experience.

Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge of chemistry in the following area(s): cementitious chemistry, epoxy liquids, latex, and/or any LATICRETE product lines ( preferred).
  • Previous experience with color matching and knowledge or experience utilizing a colorimeter (preferred).
  • Proficiency in data analysis, formulation of work plans and preparation of written reports that articulate goals and action plans.
  • Ability to do simple math calculations, input data into a computer and analyze data is required.
  • Advanced computer/technical skills including demonstrated experience using Access, , Excel, Word and Strong ERP software knowledge.
  • Able to participate in Quality Control and Environmental Safety Organizations.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent record keeping, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with shifting priorities, deadlines and focus.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.

Travel Requirement:

  • Must be able to travel 25-50%. This role will cover designated QC labs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 25 pounds.
  • Stand: Must be able to stand 50-75% of the day.
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit 25-50% of the day.
  • Twisting/Bending: Must be able to twist/bend 50-75% of the day.
