We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Purchasing Manager (m/f/d) within our Purchasing team to help support our Hydraulics business at our Pacoma branch in Eschwege, Germany.

Pacoma is one of the world’s leading suppliers of hydraulic cylinders. Our cylinders are extensively used in the construction machinery industry, the automobile industry, and in engineering applications as well as in logistics and material handling. Furthermore our cylinders can also be used in agricultural and maritime applications etc. Pacoma stands out with its individual designs, its consistently superior global quality and its high-capacity production facilities. Our factory in Eschwege, Germany, can singularly handle a quarter million units per year working at normal capacity. With the opening of a dynamic modern facility in China in 2011, Pacoma is even better positioned to serve its customers with high output and convenient logistics. Our success is the product of decades of experience. Over the course of more than 40 years, we have developed, designed and produced hydraulic cylinders of nearly every possible type. Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing regional purchasing strategies in line with global supply chain goals, as well as coordinating closely with the U.S. corporate headquarters
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Purchasing Team while ensuring efficient procurement processes and strong cross-functional collaboration
  • Selection, negotiation, and management of national and international suppliers for hydraulic components, machined parts, metal parts, seals, and assemblies
  • Building and maintaining stable supplier portfolios, including dual‑sourcing strategies to ensure supply security and minimize risk
  • Negotiation of prices, delivery times, payment terms, and Incoterms, as well as implementation of targeted cost‑reduction measures
  • Monitoring and improving supplier KPIs regarding quality, on‑time delivery, and performance, as well as supporting corrective and improvement measures
  • Close cross‑functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Planning during product launches and technical changes
  • Ensuring timely material availability in accordance with production planning and customer requirements
  • Management of orders, forecasts, and inventory targets in ERP systems
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant EU and German regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, CBAM), supporting customs and trade processes, and actively identifying and minimizing procurement and supply chain risks
Qualifications
  • Degree in purchasing, supply chain, engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in strategic procurement at a manufacturing company
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and developing a team
  • Experience in the procurement of mechanical or technical components
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Fluency in German and English
