Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
Lead global controlling activities across regions, business units, and corporate functions, ensuring transparency, consistency, and accountability in financial performance management. The role drives monthly performance reviews, profitability analysis, overhead management, financial governance, and executive reporting to support strategic decision-making. Provide accurate, timely, and forward-looking financial insight to improve profitability, productivity and return on invested capital while supporting execution of corporate strategy and financial objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead global controlling and performance management routines across regions and business units
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews with clear variance commentary
- Monitor revenue, gross profit, EBIT, conversion ratio, productivity, overheads, and working capital KPIs
- Challenge performance gaps and support definition of corrective actions
- Coordinate executive management reporting packages for CFO / CEO review
- Standardize KPI definitions, reporting logic, and ONE Finance controlling standards
- Partner with regional finance teams to improve forecast accuracy and financial discipline
Budgeting, Planning, and Monitoring:
- Coordinate with regional finance teams to forecast monthly financial results and annual plan.
- Consolidate global forecasts and provide executive-level analysis of risks and opportunities.
- Support top-down EBIT alignment and challenge regional submissions where required.
- Develop scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support business decisions.
- Document planning assumptions and ensure consistency across Finance, Operations, HR, IT, Sales, and Accounting inputs.
Active Analysis and Controlling:
- Prepare global financial reporting packages including profitability, productivity, overhead, and working capital commentary
- Analyze trends, key metrics, market movements, and operational drivers impacting financial performance
- Perform variance analysis versus Budget, Forecast, Prior Year, and Strategic Plan
- Monitor overhead spending and cost optimization initiatives across regions and functions
- Identify root causes of performance deviations and track corrective actions
- Support monthly closing reviews and validation of financial performance
Executive Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop executive dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting packs
- Translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations
- Prepare financial presentations for CFO, CEO, Board, and senior leadership meetings
- Provide ad-hoc analytics to support strategic initiatives, transformation programs, and performance improvement plans
Governance and Process Improvement:
- Drive ONEFinance standards and best practices across global controlling processes
- Improve quality, consistency, and governance of financial data and reporting definitions
- Identify automation opportunities and reporting efficiencies
- Partner with IT and Finance Systems teams on reporting enhancements, workflow improvements, and system governance
- Serve as control owner or business process owner where required for management reporting and controlling processes
Development and Support:
- Mentor and support regional controlling teams
- Promote financial discipline, performance orientation, and data-driven decision making
- Build financial literacy across business functions
- Support stakeholders with clear guidance on reporting standards, KPI definitions, and controlling expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. MBA, Master's Degree, CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Performance Management, with 5+ years in a managerial or senior finance leadership role.
- Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, working capital, productivity, and key financial performance indicators.
- Experience supporting executive leadership in a multinational environment.
- Advanced knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and ERP / planning systems.
- Logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, supply chain, or international services industry experience preferred.
