Job description

JOB TITLE: Regional Manager

FLSA: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Operations

SUMMARY: Performs all functions according to established policies and procedures. Responsible in supporting fluent distribution through collaboration, planning and leadership to increase profit margin, reduce loss and consistently exceed client expectations of service and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: โ€œEssential functionsโ€ are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

1. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Terminal Manager(s), Terminal Dispatcher/Driver Manager(s) and Auto Haulers. Oversee terminal operations.

2. Coach, train and evaluate performance of Terminal Dispatcher/Driver Manager(s).

3. Develop and track CPI/KPIs, generate operations reports.

4. Travel to all regional locations as needed.

5. Managing a team of Dispatcher/Driver Managers to ensure there is a balance to camaraderie and equal policy enforcement.

6. Provides guidance to Terminal Dispatcher/Driver Managers on load coordinating, assigning and management.

7. Maintains strict follow up and expedited response, both inside and outside of company.

8. Improving Auto Hauler efficiencies and performance.

9. Maintains good working relationship with Auto Haulers and support departments.

10. Works with support departments to improve Auto Hauler satisfaction and overall experience.

11. Fluent communication and operation with all dispatch locations.

12. Work in conjunction with other key departments within the company to contribute to established goals.

13. Act as first point of contact to customers within the region.

14. Provide daily review of aged inventory on the morning operation call, while working to bring inventory withing standard.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Extensive experience in logistics and dispatch, preferably within auto hauling distribution.

2. Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

4. Knowledge of Samsara a plus.

5. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and completion in preparing and entering information.

6. Attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.

7. Proven ability to detect concerns using analytical and problem-solving skills.

8. Ability to forecast future consequences and trends accurately.

9. Ability to provide positive reinforcement and possess a positive attitude.

10. Must be highly organized and possess the ability to prioritize.

11. Must possess ability to provide follow up to drivers and dispatch team.

12. Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.

13. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with dispatch team and auto haulers.

14. Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening) with motivational ability.

15. Possess effective verbal and listening skills.

16. Strong leader and team player.

17. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed dispatchers and drivers.

18. Work may require more than 40 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties. There is the need to frequently walk. There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting and reaching for some of his/her job duties.

Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a telephone console.

Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.

There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 25 lbs.
