About the Role

The Housing Placement Team Lead provides day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to assigned staff while delivering high-quality housing placement services. This role ensures all services meet contractual, regulatory, and accreditation standards and are delivered using a strength-based, client-centered approach.


Core Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Program Oversight

  • Provide daily direction and support to housing staff, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Maintain and communicate program policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Support staff development through coaching, consultation, and case guidance
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to program improvement efforts
  • Assist with complex or escalated client situations

Client Services

  • Provide direct, strength-based housing placement services to assigned clients
  • Coordinate referrals, placements, and required documentation in line with program standards
  • Support clients through education, advocacy, and engagement to promote long-term stability

Partnership Development and Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and community organizations
  • Identify housing opportunities and expand available resources for clients
  • Represent the program at community meetings, outreach events, and partner engagements

Operations and Resource Management

  • Assist with managing donated household goods inventory and tracking systems
  • Support rental assistance processes, including vouchers and documentation
  • Maintain accurate data and complete required reports and performance tracking

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human or community services required
  • Experience working with refugees, asylees, or vulnerable populations preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong leadership and team support skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of housing resources, case management, and community services
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to culturally responsive and strength-based service delivery
  • Bilingual in Dari or Pashto strongly preferred

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Reliable personal transportation and proof of insurance
  • Ability to drive a 20-foot rental vehicle
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
