Job description

Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to manage the planning & execution of all work going through the Project Shop. The incumbent will also facilitate projects within the shop, set priority of work through the shops, track materials, order parts/materials, PMs, and maintain record keeping.

Responsibilities
  • Track equipment backlogs and plan priority work
  • Generate new PMs and revise existing ones
  • Maintain recordkeeping of performance, repair histories, outage planning, employee time tracking
  • Procure parts, facilitate parts repairs, and monitor parts inventories for accuracy and machine availability
  • Attend outage meetings & develop standard scopes of work for all APU’s
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline or 5 years of experience within furnace refractory repairs and construction management
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, required
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment testing in the specific area of discipline, required
  • Willingness to learn, required
  • Ability to adapt to a new environment, required
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to adapt styles to different audiences, preferred
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, preferred

  • The scope of the position is located throughout the entire plant and will serve all APU’s of the plant.
  • Communications demands will be at the general foreman level and across most APU’s; this role also provides leadership in technical aspects such as construction management and refractory repairs.
  • Challenges include managing across departments with a large geographic footprint and keeping customers satisfied by delivering high‑quality products.
