Job Summary
We are seeking a Refractory Superintendent to join our team! In this role, you will oversee all aspects of project construction, including equipment, materials and personnel management. You will be responsible for training employees and ensuring they adhere to all safety regulations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record as a Refractory Superintendent or a history of strong leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the safe demolition of exisiting refractory linings.
  • Supervise a refractory crew in the installation of different materials such as gunnite, castable, plastic, ram and ceramic fiber.
  • Have a complete knowledge of scope of work, subcontractor scope of work to be able to effectively complete construction projects.
  • Ensure all employees understand all safety requirements and follow safety regulations
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all equipment
  • Meet with all employees for regular performance reviews
  • Deliver feedback to management
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing efficiency and performance
  • Maintain adequate levels of inventory and reorder as needed
  • Create employee schedules
  • Other administrative tasks as necessary
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Refractory Superintendent or similar position is preferred
  • Complete understanding of Blueprints and refractory installation drawings.
  • Deep understanding of work optimization methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of all relevant safety regulations
