Job description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall operation of all product line machinery systems which consist of the Prequalifying System, Mill System 2, Mill System 3, Liberator Line System, Granulation System, Packaging Line System and Roto-Grind System. Operator must ensure high quality standards for product and WIP material and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. These product line systems function in the same capacity of cleaning, sizing and refining raw material per customer order, but each of them processes a different product. Additional responsibilities will include: computer touch screen set-ups and adjustments, performing mandatory equipment and material inspections including quality control sieve analysis for each product, bulk density testing, getting flow rates, jockeying trailers to and from the docks, lift truck and skid steer loader operation, general equipment preventive maintenance, all production line related documentation including inventory, data entry, assistance with creating SOP, cross-training into other job functions as needed and performing housekeeping activities including use of compressed air system to clean de-stoner, gravity table decks and air filters. This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Operate all production machinery line systems with minimal supervision:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Conduct visual inspections of machinery and perform general preventive maintenance

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Setup, operate, troubleshoot, adjust settings and maintain line machinery processes using computer touch screen pads, control panels and mechanical practices

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Perform required quality ASTM sieve testing on all products and continually check materials throughout the manufacturing processes for foreign contaminates

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
  • English fluency (read, write, speak)
  • Past manufacturing experience operating equipment of similar complexity preferred
  • A minimum of 6-months powered industrial truck experience required
  • Front end loader experience preferred
  • Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
  • Read and understand units of measure
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
  • Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
  • Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role
  • Valid driverโ€™s license preferred (must have in order to jockey trailers)
