Job description

Job Title: Powder Coating Production Technician
Job Description

This role focuses on performing all pre- and post-powder-coating activities to support the production of high-quality fitness equipment components. You will prepare, coat, and inspect parts in accordance with established quality standards to ensure finished products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all pre-powder-coating tasks, including preparing parts, organizing materials, and setting up equipment according to established procedures.
  • Operate powder coating equipment and sprayers to apply coatings consistently and accurately to parts and assemblies.
  • Carry out post-powder-coating activities such as curing, cooling, and handling coated parts to maintain finish quality.
  • Inspect coated parts visually and dimensionally to verify they meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Use hand and power tools safely to prepare, finish, and adjust parts during the coating process.
  • Read and follow basic blueprints or work instructions to understand part requirements and coating specifications.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, following established production procedures and contributing to a smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safe operations.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment, especially hearing protection.
  • Handle materials and parts safely, including lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions, while adhering to ergonomic practices.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of general production and general labor experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good eye for detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in coated parts.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, to support measurements and counts.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with parts, units, and assemblies.
  • Ability to follow established procedures in a team-oriented production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with powder coating, painting, or industrial coating processes.
  • Familiarity with production environments involving coating, spraying, or general manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or work instructions.
  • Comfort working with general production equipment and tools in an industrial setting.

Work Environment

The area is noisy, and hearing protection is required as part of standard safety practices. The typical schedule runs from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with additional work anticipated on Fridays, providing a consistent daytime work pattern in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
