Job description

WRS has an immediate opening for a Site Manager at a local refinery. The Site Manager is is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of construction and maintenance work within a refinery environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between the client and WRS, overseeing project execution, estimating support, workforce management, and safety compliance. This position reports to the Construction Manager and requires strong leadership, high-level problem-solving ability, and the capability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.

Your Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives, maintaining professional and effective communication at all times.
  • Oversee multiple construction and maintenance projects simultaneously, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Safety, and Estimating to ensure alignment across all project functions.
  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules, including look-ahead planning.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to minimize impact on safety, schedule, and cost.
  • Monitor and manage project performance, including productivity, cost tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
  • Visit job sites regularly to assess progress, provide direction, and ensure accountability within field teams.
  • Directly oversee Foremen and field personnel, providing leadership, mentorship, and development to improve performance and accountability.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, including staffing levels, scheduling, and allocation of manpower and equipment.
  • Partner with Human Resources and company leadership on personnel decisions, development, and performance management.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and alignment with WRS values.

Your Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to manage electronic documentation, reporting, scheduling, and project management software; experience with HCSS (HeavyJob, HeavyBid) or similar systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions, and to work through problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and workforce planning skills, with the ability to mentor and develop field leadership.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, integrity, and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms as required on an active jobsite; ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; close and far vision required.
