Job Summary:


The Subject Matter Expert in Reconciliation demonstrates mastery in their domain and continuously expands their expertise in new reconciliation tools and processes. They identify opportunities to improve accuracy and scalability, offering solutions through collaboration with internal teams, leadership, and external contacts. They are regarded as a trusted advisor and consultant for the reconciliation department, supporting teams with complex tasks and projects to ensure client success. Additionally, they provide ongoing education on technology updates within their domain and often serve as consultants both internally and externally, covering the entire reconciliation process and system flow from aggregation to enrichment and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a trainer within their department, conducting 8-10 small group training courses annually.

  • Ensures quality reconciliation and operational performance, maintaining adherence to client expectations and SOC 1 Compliance, while offering support for internal audit queries.

  • Recommends and advises on system improvements, monitors design progress, and prepares design updates for the department.

  • Proactively anticipates challenging assets, conducts research, and provides guidance internally and externally on expected challenges.

  • Leads, advises, and encourages others in automation initiatives, serving as a sought-after resource for the department and being sought out by reconcilers for consultation.

  • Is frequently sought out by others in Operations for recommendations and technical guidance on Recon Tool system problems.

  • Applies professional concepts to resolve critical issues and address broad design matters.

  • Participates in visits to clients, external portfolio data providers, auditors, User Conferences, and other industry conferences.

  • Drives significant improvements in functionality for the most challenging issues, including Month End, Yellows, and Complex Assets.

  • Demonstrates an active role in visiting clients, external portfolio data providers, auditors, User Conferences, and other industry conferences.

  • Effectively leverages available resources and correctly identifies tools for research in projects they are responsible for, often mentoring other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to achieve project outcomes.

  • Collaborates with management to complete 6+ projects annually in support of the department's strategic initiatives.

  • Efficiently manages assignments within the team while balancing workload, ensuring client success, and meeting leadership expectations for assignments and projects. They often mentor other SMEs on projects to align with business objectives.

  • Is trusted to consistently deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive responses to project stakeholders in both written and verbal communication, frequently mentoring other SMEs on delivery.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates projects to improve 6+ strategic initiatives annually, leveraging Lean Six Sigma practices.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and takes the lead in implementing solutions that have a positive impact on the department.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of the End-to-End data flow and can identify and know the tools in the process, such as being able to explain aggregated, enriched, and reconciled data to clients.

  • Basic understanding of all aspects of recon, End to End data flow, and all system interaction around our reconciliation processes. The go-to person in the company for anything and everything recon related.

  • Proven ability to analyze information and anticipate outcomes to choose the best solutions.

  • Use a data driven approach to coordinate team and department efforts to exceed KPIs.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors/master's course in Finance or Accounting or related field.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of experience reconciling accounts.

  • Preferably 1+ year in another department or team.

Salary Range

$102,000 - $144,000

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living).
