Description

The Position

  • We are seeking a strategic Investment Data Product Owner with investment data expertise to lead the development and delivery of integrated data products that fuel LMI's investment process and businesses. This role sits at the intersection of investment teams, product, and technology, ensuring stakeholders have access to high-quality, actionable, and trusted data across Liberty's multi-asset-class investment portfolio.
  • The Investment Data Product Owner brings understanding of market data services and platforms across the investment data landscape-spanning public and private markets-and translates business requirements and solutions into a product roadmap, owning the outcomes and value creation for both business and technical workstreams.
  • In an Agile working environment, the Investment Data Product Owner leads a dedicated scrum team in story and backlog creation and oversees the implementation of data capabilities and features critical to the investment lifecycle and its supporting functions (front, middle, and back office).

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for sourcing, integrating and curating external market data into LMI's data warehouse and core data products.
  • Develop and manage the product backlog, ensuring clear prioritization aligned with business value, technical dependencies, and stakeholder needs across the investment data ecosystem.
  • Partner closely with the Data Engineering chapter to design and deliver scalable, well-governed, and high-quality data solutions across key investment data domains (e.g., security and company reference data, pricing, positions, transactions, benchmarks, and analytics).
  • Act as the voice of the customer-portfolio managers, traders, investment analysts, operations, risk, and compliance-to ensure investment data is accurately modeled, curated, and accessible to meet end-user needs and decision-making requirements.
  • Champion the integration of data across the investment lifecycle, connecting front-office trading and portfolio management, middle-office risk and performance, and back-office accounting and operations.
  • Drive incremental delivery using Agile methodologies, facilitating sprint planning, review, and refinement activities.

  • Working knowledge of investment data domains, such as security reference data, company reference data, benchmarks, positions, and transactions
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts - master data management, metadata, lineage, and data quality frameworks
  • Exposure to order management systems, accounting book of record, or market data vendor platforms
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a strong ability to lead, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to articulate technical concepts in business terms
