North Central Utility is offering a sign-on bonus for the Trailer Technician/Mechanic position at our Mankato, MN location. The bonus totals $2,500 and will be paid out in installments over the first 18 months of employment, beginning with the first paycheck.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot and perform a variety of repairs on semi-trailers

• Steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding

• Air and electrical system diagnostics and repair

• Preventative maintenance

• Certified to conduct DOT inspections (or willing to become certified)

• Trailer body repairs

• Follow company repair and safety best practices

• Maintain and promote a safe work environment

• Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment

• Assist other technicians as needed


Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

• Basic set of tools and previous experience preferred

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position

• Driver's License (Required)

Our parts department has an extensive inventory of Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensure we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts.

Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections, to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. With the addition of Cargobull reefer units to the Utility portfolio, NCU is expanding our Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) and mobile service capabilities. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.

This position is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.
