Full Time

This position serves as a Qualification Test Engineer contractor supporting the Advanced Fires Project Office (AFPO) and is based in Huntsville, AL.


Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Author Army systems’ detailed test plans and procedures derived from system requirements, defining objective success criteria and resource requirements to ensure comprehensive coverage of all operational scenarios. Draft, update, and maintain precise test cases, configuration logs, and formal test reports to establish clear traceability and support final system verification.
  • Complete laptop training, hands-on Army system hardware training, and obtain equipment operator certification.
  • Provide on-site support to lead, manage, and execute component, subsystem, and system-level qualification testing. Test types may include Environmental, Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC), Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Road Reliability, Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR), Safety, Human Factors. Includes daily coordination with test facility staff.
  • Report findings and status by publishing Daily Status Reports with testing photographs for leadership and answering questions. Ensure the final product meets specifications, working closely with development teams across the product lifecycle.
  • Beneficial to have test experience at McKinley Climatic Laboratory at Eglin AFB, FL; Redstone Test Center at Redstone Arsenal, AL; Aberdeen Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; Electronic Proving Ground at Fort Huachuca, AZ.
  • Identify potential Army system issues and defects by performing tests on the system's features.
  • Duties include ability to physically climb on top of military vehicles and weapon systems equipment.


Required Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. degree.
  • 15 years Test and Evaluation experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in weapon system qualification testing (can be part of the 15 years above).
  • Experience with evaluating systems to ensure they meet military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active DoD SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to travel up to 35% of the time. Primarily CONUS travel, but OCONUS may be required.
