Wellbyrd - Physical Therapist / Physical Therapy Assistant
Location: Austin, Texas
Pay: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview
We're seeking a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant to design and deliver individualized rehabilitation programs within our spa environment. You'll help clients recover mobility, manage pain, and optimize function by blending evidence-based PT techniques with our holistic wellness modalities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment & Treatment
    • Evaluate clients' movement, strength, and functional goals.
    • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans (exercises, manual therapy, modalities).
  • Wellness Integration
    • Incorporate Red Light Therapy, sauna sessions, and cold plunge protocols to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
    • Collaborate with IV Therapy specialists when appropriate for recovery support.
  • Education & Empowerment
    • Coach clients on therapeutic exercises, body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies.
    • Provide clear home-program instructions and progress tracking.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with spa clinicians, trainers, and wellness coaches to ensure cohesive client care.
    • Document treatment progress in our electronic health record system.
  • Quality & Safety
    • Maintain compliance with Texas PT licensing regulations and spa safety standards.
    • Ensure treatment areas and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained.
Requirements
  • Physical Therapist: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent; active Texas PT license.
  • Physical Therapy Assistant: Associate's or Bachelor's in PTA; active Texas PTA license.
  • 1+ year of outpatient or wellness-focused PT experience (spa, fitness, or clinical).
  • Strong hands-on skills (manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription).
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and client-education abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
