Job description

Rezult Group continues to make great strides toward enhancing the technology services community nationwide. We are consistently looking for qualified professionals to join us in achieving success. Currently we are searching for a Linux Systems Administrator to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.

This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire position that sits hybrid in the Birmingham, AL area.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain a large-scale enterprise server environment consisting of approximately 1,700 servers, including roughly 500–600 Linux servers.
  • Deploy and configure new Linux servers using Ansible playbooks and CI/CD automation, ensuring servers are properly networked, domain-joined, monitored and ready for the requesting team.
  • Monitor server health and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues involving disk space, CPU, memory, boot processes, NFS mounts, logs, alerts and overall server availability.
  • Plan, test and execute Linux patches, security updates and upgrades, utilizing tools such as Red Hat Satellite and controlled rollout processes.
  • Work through an enterprise ServiceNow ticketing environment, resolving infrastructure issues, documenting solutions and collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
  • Support broader infrastructure initiatives involving VMware, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and networking, while maintaining enterprise standards for documentation, change control and repeatable processes.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience administering Red Hat Linux/RHEL in a production environment; candidates with 10+ years of experience in large-scale enterprise environments are strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware, Ansible and/or Red Hat Satellite, with strong knowledge of Linux server deployment, automation, patching and security updates.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure fundamentals including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking and server integration within a Microsoft domain environment.
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting and problem determination skills, including the ability to analyze logs, errors, boot issues and other complex server problems.
  • Experience working within a large enterprise environment with ServiceNow, monitoring, documentation, change management and controlled deployment processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with other infrastructure and IT teams.
