A genuinely senior Linux administrator/engineer who can quickly assess the existing environment, identify issues, and independently administer and improve it.
The environment is specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9.
Core responsibilities/activities
Senior-level administration of RHEL 8/9 systems.
Assess the existing Linux environment and identify technical issues or improvements.
Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Linux infrastructure.
Work within the classified Morpheus private-cloud environment.
Support engineers and technical users performing modelling, simulation, and digital-engineering workloads.
Potentially participate in automation/IaC and the broader modernisation of the environment.
Work alongside Windows/Linux admins and multiple engineering disciplines.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Linux Administration
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
Experience with containers such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
Experience with SELinux and FApolicyd, STIG hardening, Identity Management (IdM/LDAP), and managing secrets and certificates
Knowledge of IT networking and security concepts
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into solutions for clients and engineers
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a STEM field
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
