Boston Legacy FC (the "Club") is Boston's professional women's soccer team, competing in the National Women's Soccer League since our inaugural 2026 season. We are dedicated to building a championship-caliber organization on and off the pitch. The Role
The Recruitment & Scouting Manager will play a central role in identifying, evaluating, and supporting the acquisition of playing talent across domestic and international markets, working closely with the Director of Recruitment, Sporting.
The role will lead the U.S. college pathway, oversee player reporting, and support the delivery of recruitment operations.
Key Responsibilities
Scouting & Talent Identification
  • Lead the identification and tracking of talent within the U.S. college system, while contributing to wider domestic and international scouting in line with first team needs.
  • Plan and deliver scouting coverage across key college competitions, as well as selected domestic and international leagues, showcases, and tournaments.
  • Maintain and regularly update player watchlists across all target markets, ensuring players are monitored and benchmarked against data requirements.
  • Conduct live and video scouting to assess players across technical, tactical, physical, and psychological areas.
  • Support ongoing squad planning by identifying priority profiles and emerging opportunities across college, domestic, and international markets.

Player Evaluation & Reporting
  • Produce clear, concise, and consistent player reports, providing objective assessments and actionable recommendations aligned to club needs.
  • Evaluate players against defined positional profiles, assessing strengths, risks, and overall suitability.
  • Prepare detailed player dossiers for senior management to support recruitment decision-making.
  • Maintain and update player shortlists and depth charts, ensuring all evaluations are current and aligned with squad priorities.

Recruitment Operations
  • Support the planning and delivery of player visits, including scheduling, logistics, and on-site coordination.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to the Director of Recruitment, Sporting, across all recruitment activity.

Strategic Support
  • Support the delivery of the club's overall recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Director of Recruitment, Sporting.
  • Contribute to squad planning processes, including short-, medium-, and long-term talent mapping.

Qualifications
Preferred Experience
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. college system and domestic player pathway, with the ability to identify, track, and evaluate talent within that landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-reasoned player assessments.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple players, processes, and timelines simultaneously.
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to operate with a high level of accountability in a high-performance environment.
  • Experience within NCAA, NWSL, or wider elite football environments.
  • Soccer coaching qualifications (e.g. USSF, UEFA, AFC) and/or Talent Identification qualifications.
  • Experience supporting player logistics, visits, or onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of international player markets and recruitment processes.

Key Qualifications
  • Experience in player recruitment, scouting, or talent identification within a professional or elite football environment, or within a coaching role with significant recruitment responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and evaluating players within the U.S. college system and/or the US domestic market.
  • Experience producing player reports and contributing to recruitment decision-making processes.
  • Familiarity with scouting and analysis platforms (e.g. Wyscout, Hudl, StatsBomb or similar).
  • Understanding of data-informed recruitment practices and the integration of analytics into decision-making.
  • Must abide by all applicable League Rules and Team policies
  • Must be able to travel as required

Work Environment
This position is fully in-person, based at Boston Legacy FC's soccer operations office and practice facility. The person must be able and willing to attend all business-related travel as requested. Ability to work at the team's business operations office in Massachusetts as needed.
