East Liverpool City Hospital is an award-winning community hospital proudly serving residents of the tristate region since 1905. With 152 licensed beds and more than 500 employees, the hospital averages 31,000 Emergency Department visits annually. East Liverpool's medical staff is comprised of more than 160 physicians with an additional 21 resident physicians completing their training in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, general surgery, medical stabilization for substance abuse, behavioral health for adults over the age of 55, and remains the ONLY cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County. Responsibilities

Conducts therapeutic recreational activities within the geriatric behavioral health program to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically and mentally disabled. The Recreation/Activity Therapist directs patient participation in selected activities such as games, social activities, sports or music to create an atmosphere of sociability, to provide a means of creative expression and to facilitate the learning skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community. Creates an environment that allows the patient to explore his/her own potential, cultivate positive morale and minimize distress of illness.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, occupational therapist (OT), or Expressive Arts Therapy OR Associates Degree in occupational therapy assistant (COTA).2. Current and active state licensure as required by degree.3. Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting preferred.
