Supervisor of Recreation Therapy: to join our team and lead our therapeutic programs to new heights.
Position Overview
As the **Supervisor of Recreation Therapy, ** you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our patients. You will lead a talented team of recreation therapists, designing and implementing innovative, patient-centered therapy programs that promote healing, social interaction, and personal growth. Your leadership will ensure that our therapeutic activities are engaging, effective, and aligned with the overall treatment goals of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Management: Design, develop, and oversee comprehensive recreation therapy programs tailored to the needs of patients with diverse psychiatric conditions.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of recreation therapists, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Patient-Centered Care: Ensure all therapeutic activities are patient-focused, encouraging participation and promoting mental and physical well-being.
Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy programs, making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff, to integrate recreational therapy into holistic treatment plans.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all programs comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and program outcomes.
Resource Management: Manage the recreation therapy budget, equipment, and resources to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
Certification: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in recreation therapy, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting.
