Job Summary
Front Desk Attendants ensure a safe and friendly environment while monitoring check-in and facility operations, and enforcing policies in the Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center. Front Desk attendants report to Front Desk Student Coordinators and the Fitness & Operations Program Manager, within Recreational Services. Availability of applicants during operational hours is a hiring consideration.
Currently hiring for the 2026-27 academic year
Core Duties
  • Create a welcoming and friendly environment for patrons and co-workers.
  • Oversee patron check-in, equipment inventory, class registration, membership and locker sales
  • Provide information and excellent customer service to patrons, enforce policies and procedures, address issues with facility users
  • Respond to injuries and emergencies within facility and provide guidance to others as needed
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and touch points within the facility
  • Communicate with supervisors and co-workers in a prompt and professional manner
  • Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Availability during academic year during hours facility is open.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to speak with patrons regarding policy and behavior
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and other programs
  • Ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
  • Current CPR & AED Certification. This may be obtained within a short time after starting.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and give priority to most important/time-sensitive tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • First-year students with excellent character and experience are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working in active, customer oriented environment, or experience in public service/volunteer positions with successful frequent interpersonal interaction
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and school breaks.
  • Federal Work-Study in Financial Aid package
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move weights at least 50 lbs.
