Description
The Athletic Manager will be thoroughly committed to Miamisburg Recreation and Parks mission. All candidates should have the desire to execute programs, leagues or daily operations while providing a high level of customer service. All candidates should have experience working in a customer-oriented setting, be comfortable delivering positive as well as constructive feedback to staff, and thrive in a teamwork environment.
The Athletic Manager will develop and/or execute a variety of programs, leagues, events for all department areas, as well as manage various operational elements within the Mound Golf Course clubhouse function. A passion for sports, programming, or golf as well as parks and recreation service to one's community is an expected element of what qualified individuals will bring to this position.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, Sports Management, Athletic Administration, Leisure Studies, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience; and
  • A minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in Sports Programming, Athletic League Management, Recreation Programming, Event Management, Parks and Recreation Operations Management or related field, including documented experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role; and
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; and
  • Operational knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn and utilize recreation management software; and
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification* within six months of appointment; and
  • Possess a valid driver's license*; and
  • Able to fulfill the physical demands of the position.

*Must maintain certifications and licensure as a condition of employment.
