Job description

Recreation Center Front Desk Attendant

The Recreation Center Front Desk Attendant is under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager. The Attendant serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and staff, providing excellent customer service in a welcoming and efficient environment. Some responsibilities include checking in members, issuing memberships and daily passes, registering participants for activities, processing payments, answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and promoting recreation services. The associate also maintains a clean and organized reception area, enforces facility policies and safety regulations, protects member confidentiality, and performs general administrative duties to support daily operations.

Examples Of Duties
  • Greet customers upon arrival.
  • Check in members to ensure they are valid.
  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly service to the customers in person and on the phone.
  • Collect entry fees and membership fees.
  • Enroll customers into programs and sign up for membership.
  • Be knowledgeable of the programs offered and the facility to be able to answer customer's questions.
  • Rent out game equipment.
  • Count and balance register at the end of shift.
  • Cleaning and general upkeep of the front desk area.
  • Monitor the stock of literature at the front desk and make sure the supply remains adequate.
Typical Qualifications
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts.
