Job description

Reports to:Manager/Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations

Position Title:Machine Operator, all levels

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager and/or Supervisor of Manufacturing Operations,operatesany of the following equipment: fin press, expander press, and hairpin tubing press or to perform leak test, rework, or a variety of assembly operations.Sets up andoperatesautomatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposedtomoving mechanical partswhichrequiresthe use ofprotective gear to ensure safety.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow written instructions and basic mechanical drawing specifications for equipment operations and changeover requirements.

  • Performs work by hand and with fixtures and machines, such as drilling, screwing, and bolting necessary to assembly work, disassembles asrequired. May perform operations such as sizing copper tubing to coil fin.

  • Monitor meters, gauges, valves, viscosity, temperatures, pressures, relatedcontrolsand guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specification.

  • Perform machine and quality checks as outlined in the work standards. Immediately report anyout of specificationproduct to the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

  • Account for machine scrap. Complete all required scrap tags and labels for scrap tracking. Process scrap as directed by the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

  • Report andassistmaintenance crew in the repair, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.

  • Complete any required reports as directed by the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

  • Comply withall activities related to product safety, legality, regulatorycomplianceand quality.

  • Maintain a clean working environment and follow all safety guidelines andpolicies always. Report any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

  • Maintaingood communicationwith team members.

  • Verify use of correct materials by inspection and parts lists;identifyand correct process and material defects.

  • Perform basic math calculations tomaintainaccuratecounts of parts produced, adequatepartssupply.

  • Performs all workin accordance withestablished safety procedures.

  • Perform other duties as requested by the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

PositionQualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.Completion of some secondary/trade school technical and/or general businesscourseis preferred.

  • Requires a minimum of1year of experience(W1), or equivalent combination of technical school, on-the-job training and work experience.

  • Ability to follow written directions for proper changeover procedures. Understand and implement proper changeover procedures.

  • General sheet metal knowledge;

  • Some knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance;

  • Attention to detail

  • Good math skills are preferred to interpret drawings and specifications.

  • Able to lift and/or move heavy objects/components,frequentlyup to 25lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists.

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.

  • Able to walk, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

  • Must havedemonstratedability to communicate (speak, read, write) in English.

  • Able to work independently and with others.

  • Wear safety gear at all times

  • Mustbe able to work overtime.
