Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing day-to-day third-party-logistics brokerage operation within the Logistics division at the Omega Morgan yard in Houston, TX. Working internally with leadership, sales, warehousing, and project management teams to optimize our businessโ€™ supply chains. Nurture external relationships with customers, vendors, and carriers and drive revenue with additional transportation service offerings. Responsible for preparing logistics operations for expected challenges (such as spikes in seasonal demand), and for building a resilient business segment that is strong and stable enough to withstand unforeseen challenges in the industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seek out quality flatbed, stepdeck, and specialized carriers to contract on transactional loads for internal and external Omega Morgan customers.
  • Track and trace each assigned transportation unit to ensure they arrive to load with the proper equipment and proceed to delivery at the assigned delivery times.
  • Verify documentation on each contracted carrier to ensure that they are in compliance with Omega Morganโ€™s carrier contract terms and verify their auto and cargo liability coverages.
  • Maintain TMS system to ensure that all load records are up-to-date, and all pertinent files have been uploaded into the cloud.
  • Maintain communication with internal personnel in the field to ensure that their transported goods are recovered and delivered on-time to support their individual operations.
  • Maintain positive communication with external customers and their assigned salespeople to ensure that their transported goods are recovered and delivered on-time.
  • Ensure safety, schedule, quality, and targets are consistently met while adhering to project and company requirements.
  • Liaise with the corporate back office, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, as it relates to owner operator and carrier settlements and cash flow for the business unit.
  • Use industry contacts, peers, and other professional networks to identify business opportunities and develop long term business relationships and liaise with the sales team to do so.
  • Present business opportunities and cases to the sales team members ensuring a focus on innovation and client focus.
  • Work closely with management, sales, and client representatives to ensure a smooth delivery of services and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Assist the contracts and estimating teams with the responses to RFQโ€™s by participating in the completion of the project bid.
  • Review and refine processes to continuously improve safety, cost control, operations, and carrier onboarding.
  • Some Afterhours and Weekend Operations when loads are enroute or will be loaded outside of normal business hours.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 3 or more years of related transportation experience preferred, logistics, freight brokerage, and/or hands on transportation field experience.
  • Prior teamwork experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Freight Load Boards (Truckstop.com and DAT experience preferred).
  • High Volume Communication via Phone, Email, Text, and Other Applications.
