Luxury Jewelry Sales & Inventory Management Associate

Location: Fletcher, NC (Conveniently located between Asheville and Hendersonville)

Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (20–40 hours per week)

Marthaler Jewelers is a first-generation, family-owned jewelry store specializing in fine jewelry, custom design, and in-house manufacturing. Position Overview


We are seeking a Luxury Jewelry Sales & Inventory Management Associate who is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enjoys building long-term client relationships.

This position is typically 20–40 hours per week, with additional hours available during holidays, special events, and vacation coverage.

Previous jewelry sales experience is preferred, but we are also willing to train the right individual with experience in luxury retail or other high-end merchandise sales who demonstrates the qualities we're looking for.


Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide a personalized luxury shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with fine jewelry, engagement rings, custom designs, gifts, and special orders.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through thoughtful clienteling and consistent follow-up.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales goals while contributing to the store's overall success.
  • Receive, inspect, document, and ship high-value jewelry, gemstones, watches, and other merchandise using established security procedures.
  • Accurately enter inventory information, product details, pricing, and customer information into jewelry-specific software.
  • Process sales transactions, financing, layaways, repairs, and special orders accurately.
  • Coordinate repairs and custom orders, maintain detailed records, and communicate updates through Monday.com.
  • Maintain organized showcases, merchandise displays, and back-stock areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, merchandising, and stock organization.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and help maintain a clean, organized showroom.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training related to diamonds, gemstones, jewelry, and sales techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide an outstanding customer experience and support daily store operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of luxury retail or high-end sales experience preferred
  • Jewelry sales experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong clienteling and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a close-knit team
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to handle confidential information and high-value merchandise with integrity and discretion
  • Willingness to continue learning through jewelry, gemstone, and diamond education programs
