USED CAR MANAGER
Diehl Hyundai of Massillon
Full-time | On-site | Used Vehicle Sales, Inventory & Acquisition Leadership
Hyundai of Massillon is looking for a hands-on, data-driven Used Car Manager who can build the right inventory, price it to the market, move it quickly, and protect gross. This is a high-accountability role for a leader who can connect acquisition, appraisal, reconditioning, merchandising, and sales execution into one disciplined process.
What You Will Own
Inventory Management & Strategy
  • Own the used vehicle inventory plan for Diehl Hyundai of Massillon, including inventory level, age, mix, price point, mileage, segment, and fuel type.
Vehicle Acquisition & Appraisal
  • There is buying center on-site. Oversee the buying center and service lane acquisition opportunities.
Pricing, Merchandising & Reconditioning
  • Set and maintain market-based pricing that creates traffic, supports turn, and protects legitimate gross opportunities.
  • Ensure every unit is photographed, described, priced, and fully merchandised online quickly and professionally.
  • Own inventory flow from acquisition through mechanical review, reconditioning, detail, photography, and frontline placement.
Sales Leadership & Performance
  • Lead and support the used vehicle sales effort, creating a culture of urgency, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, service leadership, marketing, and the BDC to improve traffic, conversion, and total-store performance.
How Success Will Be Measured
The successful manager will consistently improve the following outcomes:
  • Inventory discipline: Inventory turn, average age, and compliance with the 75-day policy
  • Reconditioning speed: Time from acquisition to frontline-ready status and control of avoidable recon expense
  • Retail performance: Front gross, back gross, total gross, sales volume, and average days to sale
  • Acquisition quality: Appraisal accuracy, source mix, direct-purchase growth, and wholesale loss control
  • Merchandising execution: Speed and quality of photos, descriptions, pricing, and online presentation
  • Leadership accountability: Team follow-through, cross-department cooperation, and completion of action plans
What We Are Looking For
  • Strong understanding of used vehicle economics, retail and wholesale values, market-based pricing, recon decisions, and deal structure.
  • Working proficiency with vAuto or comparable inventory and appraisal tools, dealership reporting, and live market data.
  • Organization, urgency, and attention to detail will be the key drivers of success in this position.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate performance data into specific action.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with used cars, used car reconditioning, and used car pricing and merchandising strategies.
  • Success building inventory through service-lane acquisition, direct-to-consumer buying, and trade capture.

This role offers the chance to make a visible impact on one of the dealership's most important profit centers. You will have clear performance expectations, access to modern inventory and market tools, and the opportunity to work directly with dealership leadership to shape the store's used vehicle strategy.
