NOTE: Training will intially take place at the Issaquah Store location
SHIFT: Multiple
Tues-Fri & Sun: Tues-Fri 9:30-6:30 Sun 10:30-5:30
Wed-Sun: Wed-Sat 9:30-6:30 Sun 10:30-5:30

Works with the Store Manager and Call Center to set up retail stores for long-term profitability by selling brand-appropriate products, providing customer service support, and building relationships with customers. Educates customers about waste reduction and sustainability, and sells products which are reusable, recycled, or refurbished.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Accept hard to recycle item drop offs, including potentially hazardous items such as batteries and fluorescent bulbs. Sort all material and log collection data.
  • Promote and sell products designed to reduce waste. Educating customers about how they fit our Waste Zero mission.
  • Opens and closes out the store each day, including compiling daily reports.
  • Processes customer payment and addresses basic Customer Service requests.
  • Maintains visual standards and cleanliness of the store, including merchandising and facing product.
  • Runs the cash register, handling payments and bank deposits.
  • Educates customers about waste reduction.
  • Provides superior customer service to customers, both in store and over the phone and anticipates product needs.
  • Stocks product on sales floor.
  • Continually expands knowledge of sustainability and brand-appropriate products and services.

  • Provide information to Recology customers regarding collection schedules, rates, and billing details.
  • Partner with the Waste Zero department and/or independently create, lead, and run events to attract customers to the store.
  • Communicates and cooperates with other staff and departments in store, over the phone, and through email and chat-based channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Two years' of experience in customer service and/or retail; or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Knowledge of retail sales operations, including industry standards, requirements and Retail Sales quality measurements.
  • Preferred knowledge of industry specific software systems.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work weekends
