Kinder's

Walnut Creek, CA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 6 days ago

Job description

BUILT ON FLAVOR. FUELED BY PEOPLE.

What's it like to work at Kinder's? Well, there's a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there's also plenty of hard work. Because we don't just like flavor, we're obsessed with it.

With over 100 products sold nationwide, we're now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We're not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.

As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you're looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you'll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Recipe Development & Testing:

  • Develop and test original recipes that highlight our seasonings and sauces, ensuring they are delicious, accessible, and easy to follow.
  • Adapt and refine existing recipes to align with brand positioning, flavor trends, and consumer preferences.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to create recipes for new product launches and seasonal promotions.
  • Ensure all recipes are tested for accuracy, yield, and consistency before publication.

Content Creation & Brand Engagement:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop recipe-driven content for websites, social media, and digital campaigns.
  • Participate in video and photo shoots, demonstrating cooking techniques and presenting finished dishes.
  • Create engaging written content, including recipe descriptions, digital posts (when needed), and cooking tips that inspire customers to use our products.
  • Stay up to date on food trends and incorporate relevant culinary insights into recipe development and brand storytelling.

Culinary Innovation & Trend Research:

  • Monitor food trends (both restaurant and social media), competitor products, and consumer preferences to inform recipe innovation and content strategy.
  • Experiment with new techniques, global flavors, and unique applications of our seasonings and sauces to drive product engagement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for future product innovations based on culinary expertise and industry trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with the product development team to provide culinary expertise in ingredient selection, product testing, and flavor development.
  • Work with the marketing and sales team to create recipe materials for retailer and / or marketing needs.
  • Support the customer service team by providing culinary knowledge and answering consumer inquiries about recipe usage and cooking techniques.
  • Support sales and / or marketing teams for field events, customer demonstrations, or other activities on an as-needed basis.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional culinary experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, restaurant, culinary education, or culinary product development role.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, cooking techniques, and recipe formulation.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear and engaging recipe instructions with an emphasis on how real people cook in the real world.
