Job description

We are looking for an Industrial Automation Engineer to join our team and participate in industrial digitalization and automation projects across the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries.


The selected candidate will be involved in the design, programming, commissioning and support of industrial automation solutions, working closely with engineering, software and consulting teams to implement reliable and efficient solutions adapted to each client's production processes.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze industrial processes and functional requirements to develop appropriate automation solutions.
  • Design, program, configure and implement industrial automation systems for manufacturing environments.
  • Participate in industrial projects from the initial design and engineering phases through implementation, commissioning and validation.
  • Develop and configure PLC, HMI and SCADA applications according to project requirements.
  • Work with automation platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider or equivalent technologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate automation systems with MES, EBR, ERP, LIMS, databases and other industrial systems.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting activities, both remotely and at customer sites.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the optimization and standardization of automation solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications, design documentation and commissioning records.
  • Provide technical support during project implementation and resolve issues related to automation systems and their integrations.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable standards, libraries and engineering practices within the automation team.


Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems or industrial engineering.
  • Solid experience with PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.
  • Practical experience with platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider or similar.
  • Ability to understand industrial processes and translate functional requirements into technical automation solutions.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols and networks.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation concepts related to industrial automation.
  • Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting and technical support in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to interact directly with customers and other technical teams.
  • Availability for occasional travel to customer sites for commissioning, start-up and support activities.


Valuable

  • Experience with MES, EBR/MOM or industrial digitalization projects.
  • Knowledge of batch processes, recipe management and ISA-88 concepts.
  • Experience integrating automation systems with ERP, LIMS, MES, databases or other higher-level systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, .NET or industrial software development.
  • Experience in regulated industries, particularly pharmaceutical, food or chemical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GxP, GMP or CSV environments.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA/DA, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP or similar.
  • Previous experience working with SCADA platforms such as WinCC, FactoryTalk, Ignition or equivalent.
  • Experience leading technical activities or small automation work packages is a plus.
