Job description

Under the direction of the Recipe Technician Manager, Recipe Specialists (Technicians) work in conjunction with Research & Development and Testing teams to ensure the recipes meet company quality and operational standards. Recipe Specialists establish and observe the success and performance of products at different phases of development by performing in-depth Recipe Assessments on any and all developed/approved recipes as well as manage updates/changes within Crumbl's Internal Recipe Instructional Library before, during, and after a product is live to franchise partners and customers.
Responsibilities
  • Aid in the recipe development process by performing an in-depth assessment on every developed recipe, prior to the recipe's testing and official launch date.
  • Provide cross-team support and communication to produce quality products and processes through detailed reports, documentation, and instructional design.
  • Validate recipes and operational processes and further develop specifications, procedures, and policies that result in consistent product company-wide.
  • Prepare and adapt recipes for international implementation, ensuring accuracy in ingredient specifications, preparation methods, cultural specifications, and scalable processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational kitchen that supports recipe assessments and tasks carried out by other teams.
  • Collaborate well with bakers, share kitchen space and communicate regarding ingredients/tools.
  • Ensure that quality, operational, and ingredient-related issues are effectively addressed, mitigated, and reflected in the recipe instruction, if approved, prior to product launch.
  • Capture photo and video content for recipes-in-testing, adhering to brand standards and operational guidelines, with potential to assist in editing and uploading for consistent, accessible documentation.
  • Contribute to daily/ongoing maintenance of the Menu Database and Recipe Instructional Library as needed.
  • Plan processes and originate, test, and implement ideas to decrease defects in products.
  • Support troubleshooting and have an excellent understanding of the product's processes on a larger scale.
  • Remain current on development/innovation in the food & beverage industry, including equipment and quality initiative programs.
  • Isolate and communicate trends in production.
  • Establish efficient operational execution during the recipe development process, ensuring scalability and quality control for store implementation.
  • Develop and implement standardized production procedures to optimize consistency and efficiency in product output.
  • Compile comprehensive, well-structured reports on projects, including key insights, operational recommendations, and data-driven conclusions, with the ability to effectively communicate results to team members, leaders and relevant departments.
  • Contribute to the V1 instructional design on recipes based on assessment.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Follow food safety standards in all applications of recipes, documenting times, temperatures, and procedures
  • Assist Recipe Technician Manager with any other tasks as necessary.
