Medical Office Receptionist

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Office Receptionist, where your organizational skills and compassionate approach will contribute to providing exceptional patient care. This role offers an engaging environment in a busy medical practice, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy and completeness
  • Check patients' credit status and review all notes on accounts to ensure proper documentation
  • Collect co-pays and payments for office visits, laboratory services, and other procedures
  • Balance the cash drawer accurately at the end of each shift
  • Print fee tickets and direct patients to the appropriate waiting areas
  • Collect additional payments as directed by healthcare providers
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for all physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Schedule return visits and follow-up appointments
  • Issue work or school excuses as needed
  • Type and prepare statements, letters, and other correspondence
  • Work hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or until relieved, with one late evening shift per week and a rotation of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM shifts
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned, supporting the smooth operation of the practice
