Job description

The full time role of reception/billing within the Crossen Family Practice structure presents a diverse and multifaceted opportunity to engage with clinical and administrative staff at all levels to provide primary care to our patient population. This position is part time billing and part time reception. We are seeking a candidate with medical billing experience. The role also requires a candidate that is very comfortable interacting with patients directly and over the phone to resolve billing, scheduling, and medication refill needs with the support of the clinical team. We are also looking for a candidate who is able to complete organized patient follow up calls in a timely manner on items related to scheduling, medication refills, and paperwork needs as directed by our clinical staff. The position is currently remote as our practice is operating via a telehealth platform. The role will transition to being in person as determined by our practice owners pending the COVID-19 pandemic.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary staff member answering all incoming calls each day related to scheduling, billing, and medication refills

  • Return voicemails each day related to scheduling, billing, and medication refills

  • Must be comfortable navigating patient charts to check on medication refill dates, appointment details, and demographic data

  • Must be comfortable interfacing with clinical & admin team on billing related matters

  • Complete all billing for all patient visits daily

  • Provide regular reports generated in the EMR related to billing operations

  • Assist in the export of documentation to other provider offices that are a part of the patient’s care team. Ex: dermatology, gastrointestinal specialists, etc. 

  • Use excel and google docs for workflow quantification reporting daily

  • Printing, copying, scanning, and mailing items as needed & as directed by clinical and admin teams
