Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt
The University of Pennsylvania Master of Public Health (MPH) Program is seeking a dedicated tutor for PUBH 5010 - Introduction to Biostatistics.
This course provides a broad overview of biostatistics and its applications in public health research and practice. Topics covered will include techniques for describing and summarizing observations, for assessing associations among variables, and for determining the extent to which chance may be explaining and/or influencing the observed results. Students learn how to choose, apply, and interpret commonly used statistical tests. In addition, students will gain experience using STATA, a statistical software package, to analyze data.
Position Details:
• Hourly Rate: $25/hour
• Hours per Week: 2 hours/week
• Start Date: 2/24/25
• End Date: 4/30/25
Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of biostatistics and its public health applications
• Expertise in STATA with experience in data analysis
• Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one tutoring support to a current MPH student (statistical concepts, problem-solving, and STATA software use)
