Entry-Level Environmental Professional (Geologist, Engineer, or Environmental Scientist)
First Environment, Inc., a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm providing strategic environmental services across the U.S., is seeking a recent graduate or early-career professional to join our team. This position supports a diverse portfolio of projects related to environmental assessments, site investigation and remediation, regulatory compliance and permitting, air emissions management, natural resource management, environmental litigation support, and sustainability.
The role is designed to provide broad technical exposure across multiple practice areas during the first years of employment, helping the successful candidate develop specialized skills and identify a long-term career path within the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with in-field environmental site assessments, site investigations, and remediation projects, including:
    • Field data collection and documentation
    • Sampling coordination (e.g., soil, groundwater)
    • Data interpretation and technical reporting
  • Help prepare permit applications and environmental scientific reports/assessment documents.
  • Apply knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support the development of a broad array of technical deliverables, including research, document review, data analysis, and preparation of technical materials.
  • Perform literature reviews, regulatory research, and data analysis to support projects and proposals.
  • Participate in professional organizations, industry groups, and continuing education.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, natural resource management, chemistry, or related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Ability to travel locally and throughout the region to support field assignments
  • Experience with Excel (GIS, modeling tools, or data analysis/programming
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work collaboratively, and learn new technical skills
