 **Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday's in Schaumburg office**

Objective of Position: The Data Analytics Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing data analytics solutions. The role provides technical support for data analytics assets as well as evaluates data and analytics platforms and related hardware and software for risk and improvement. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish and implement standards and best practices. 
  • Conduct data profiling periodically and update procedures and best practices to effectively manage the data quality, metadata, and data security. 
  • Gather and document business requirements from end users and perform data analysis.
  • Design and implement database models (Relational, Dimensional, Star/Snowflake schema).
  • Prepare process and data flow diagrams.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, data integrations, preliminary analyses, and visualizations.
  • Develop queries to extract, load, and transform data.
  • Create documentation for end users, reference, training, and technical solutions.
  • Develop and document thorough test plans.
  • Perform unit, system, integration, and regression testing. Document test results and provide feedback.
  • Actively engage end users during UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to obtain sign-off and validation.
  • Support enterprise analytics usage across the organization.
  • Perform and document database audits regularly in accordance with Byline Bank policies.
  • Attend to user issues on time and resolve issues as per the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Prepare project plans and clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines.
  • Manage projects and communicate progress and delays with stakeholders.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field. 
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing data analytics solutions.
  • 3+ years of hands-on development using MS SQL Server, Oracle, or other database technologies. Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing analytics using tools such as SAP Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • 2+ years of experience in data warehouse architecture, design principles, systems development, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Experience with dbt is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in designing data models, including star schemas and data marts, to support end-user consumption and analytics. 
  • Experience administering enterprise Power BI / Fabric platforms, including security, lifecycle management, and content governance.
  • Must be self-motivated, team oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and diagnose problems. 
  • Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles, and security practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively to support a wide range of constituencies. The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Self-starter with excellent organization, administrative, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations while still being attentive to the detail and delivery requirements. 


Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

Compensation & Benefits:
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.

The salary range for this position is between $86,000 to $115,000

In addition, Byline provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
