The Opportunity
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) within the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona Beach Campus) invites applications for multiple full-time, nine-month tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor, with an anticipated start date of August 2026. We seek exceptional candidates committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service. While outstanding applicants in all areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Systems Engineering will be considered, we have particular interest in candidates with expertise in:
  • Software Engineering
  • Theoretical and Applied Machine Learning
  • Quantum Computing, Communications, Networking, and Signal Processing
  • Control Systems and Autonomous Systems
  • Cyber-Resilient Systems

Successful candidates will be expected to:
  • Develop and sustain externally funded research programs
  • Publish high-impact scholarly work and participate in interdisciplinary research
  • Recruit, advise, and mentor Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. students
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses across the EECS curriculum
  • Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service activities

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science includes 22 faculty members and offers a comprehensive range of academic programs:
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
  • M.S. programs in Cybersecurity Engineering; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Software Engineering; Systems Engineering; and Unmanned & Autonomous Systems Engineering.
  • B.S. programs in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Systems Engineering.

Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of (or strong potential for) scholarly excellence, competitive proposal development, and impactful research
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student mentorship
  • Outstanding candidates who have completed all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation (ABD) and who anticipate degree completion by the Fall 2026 semester may also be considered
  • For applicants seeking appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level, substantial evidence of sustained research funding, academic leadership, and significant scholarly impact is expected.
