JOB DESCRIPTION

RECEIVING MATERIAL HANDLER

Department: Warehouse Receiving Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Receiving Manager & Supervisor

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Positions Supervised: NA

(Flexible OT and Weekend Availability)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Receiver reports to the Receiving Manager & Supervisor. The responsibilities include off-loading of all containers and trailers. Responsible for moving all merchandise to the proper location once it’s been received. A flexible schedule is a MUST.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for reading purchase orders to verify sizes, quantities, vintage, and proof of merchandise.
  • Responsible for labeling and placing merchandise on pallets before putting away to identify received merchandise
  • Responsible for cleaning and organizing assigned areas to maintain organization of warehouse
  • Receive all purchase orders in the warehouse using a forklift or proper equipment
  • Responsible for loading and off-loading containers and assisting with checking inventory
  • Responsible for lifting merchandise cases and setting them on pallets to put away on racks
  • Responsible for hand stacking containers as needed to organize merchandise in warehouse
  • Responsible for assisting drivers as needed to provide faster loading and off loading of trucks
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining proper care of forklifts by checking water levels of batteries to preserve equipment life and prevent costly repairs
  • Responsible for the documentation of purchase orders received to maintain accurate inventory
  • Responsible for space control by moving items from one location to another to utilize maximum capacity of Warehouse
  • Responsible for assisting and conducting inventory to maintain accurate merchandise quantities in system
  • Loaded and unloaded merchandise from the replenishment warehouse.
  • Perform other related warehouse duties when necessary


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED. A minimum of one year of warehouse experience or a combination of experience and education in a related field. 1 year of forklift experience is required and 1 year of stock picker experience preferred. Forklift certified.
